Giants worked out ... no one on Tuesday

Just in case you were expecting something

If you were waiting for the New York Giants to work out a cavalcade of right tackle candidates on Tuesday as potential competition for the much-maligned Ereck Flowers, sorry. The Giants did not work out any players on Tuesday. At least none that I have been able to ascertain or find reports about.

Here is your list of currently available offensive tackles. What you think of the players on this list is up to you. The Giants’ decision-makers are sending a clear signal that they are not impressed by what they can currently find on the market.

One of those options, Chris Clark, is now off the board. He is reportedly joining the Carolina Panthers.

Whether it’s a palatable option for much of the fan base or not, the Giants are sticking with Flowers for now. He carries a $4.579 cap hit for the season whether he plays or not. Besides, any tackle signing now would likely take a few weeks to learn the offense.

A couple of former Giants may soon have new homes. Defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins is reportedly visiting the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday. Orleans Darkwa, the Giants leading rusher a season ago, worked out on Tuesday for the New England Patriots.
