How bout dem boyz

Anyone else enjoying lurking on Blogging The Boys? For some reason it reminds me of the Giants following week 1 last year. That feeling of dread as you realize all the hopes and dreams of the offseason were nothing more than a mirage...

Anyhow, I feel like the Giants have a solid shot at winning next week, for a couple reasons:

- Firstly, playcalling (on offense). I am a bit worried by the o-line, but I feel like Shurmer and Shula will find ways to work around it, as they both did successfully in their previous positions. That is very hard to do against a Jags-caliber defense, but the Cowboys do have a few weaknesses that I think a well-prepared offense will be able to take advantage of (FS, CB2, DT).

- Second, our defense matches up well. I know we've said this since 2016, but I feel like it is even more so now. The Giants biggest strength is shutting down the run, and biggest weakness is defending TEs (especially if OV is back to bolster the pass rush). The Cowboys biggest strength is the run game, and biggest weakness is probably pass catching TEs. We all saw last night how their offense looks when unable to establish the run game, or even pick up a couple yards on first down. They will have to make some adjustments, but I don't think it will be enough.

If the Giants can put the Cowboys in an 0-2 hole, I would guess they'd have a tough time winning 8 games this year. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is Garrett's last year, but it depends entirely on if their staff can find a way to wring enough wins out of Dak and that receiving core.

What do you guys think? Are the Cowboys doomed?
