Reports: Giants, Odell Beckham Jr. agree to 5-year, $95 million extension

Odell’s blockbuster contract seems close

Josina Anderson of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network are reporting that the New York Giants and superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. have agreed to a historic 5-year, $95 million contract extension, including $65 million in guaranteed money.

The news was first reported by the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Kim Jones.

Then, we quickly found out that the deal was done.

At one point this offseason it didn’t look as though this would be a given, as reports surfaced that the team was flirting with the idea of trading Beckham before the draft. However, he quickly formed a strong bond with new head coach Pat Shurmur, extending every olive branch to the team he could. In a season in which Julio Jones, Le’Veon Bell, Aaron Donald, and Khalil Mack have all held out, Beckham showed up to most of the OTAs and has done everything the Giants have asked.

Now? Well, the locker room seems excited by the deal.

Full details have yet to be released, but there have been some reports.
