The New York Giants lost starting tight end Evan Engram to a concussion in the second quarter of Friday night’s preseason game against the New York Jets.

Engram was sandwiched by two Jets defenders after catching a short pass from Eli Manning at the Jets’ 25-yard line with 5:24 left in the half. He was ruled to have fumbled, but was called down by contact after review.

The 2017 first-round pick was immediately taken to the locker room.

Rhett Ellison, the Giants’ second tight end, is also questionable to return with an eye injury.
