Non-descript. Unheralded. Anonymous. Unknown. Overlooked.

Whatever way you want to describe them, the New York Giants have a number of cornerbacks on the roster you probably hadn’t heard of until they were signed by your favorite team.

One of those is Teddy Williams. A seven-year veteran, Williams entered the league in 2012 with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent. He has played for five teams and never started a game.

Let’s look at Williams as we continue our look at the players who will make up the Giants’ 90-man training camp roster.

The basics

Age: 30
Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 210
Position: Cornerback
Experience: 7

2017 season in review

Williams spent the season on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.

2018 outlook

Who knows? There are four corners — Janoris Jenkins, Eli Apple, William Gay, newly-drafted Sam Beal — who are almost certain to make the roster. Williams, who has played in 36 NFL games without a start, is in that mix of unheralded, unknown players fighting for one of the final spots.

At one time, Williams was a premier special teams player. He apparently never played college football, but used his sprinter’s speed to make an impact there. If he can still make plays on special teams he might have a chance to stick around.
