It’s rare that we have real football news to talk about in the middle of July, and rarer still that it is news we’re happy to talk about.

We got just that when the New York Giants invested their 2019 third-round pick in acquiring Western Michigan cornerback Sam Beal in the 2018 NFL Supplemental Draft. Having a prospect like Beal come up in the supplemental draft is rare in its own right — this was the first time since 2012 that a player with clear “starter” upside qualified for the supplemental draft. We’ve heard what the Giants’ GM thinks, what scouts think, and what some folks on Twitter think. Now, let’s see what Big Blue View thinks about the selection of Sam Beal.
