Happy Father’s Day open thread

Yours truly is having a good weekend — hope you are, too

This was going to be a full-fledged ‘Valentine’s Views’ for your Sunday reading enjoyment. There was going to be discussion of Odell Beckham Jr., thoughts about Pat Shurmur, on the successful spring enjoyed by the New York Giants, and much more.

Then, something unexpected — and for me, wonderful — happened. My wife and I are spending the weekend at our summer camp in the Adirondacks. Unexpectedly, at least to me, my son, his girlfriend and our 21/2-year-old granddaughter showed up Friday evening. They live 5 hours from us, in Western New York, so we don’t see them as often as we’d like.

So, it’s a happy Father’s Day Weekend for me. It’s also one in which as little work is going to be done as possible. It’s time to just be grandpa. So, deep thoughts about the Giants will have to wait.

Happy Father’s Day, all! The floor is yours.
