Just one day after being signed by the New York Giants, defensive tackle A.J. Francis blasted his former employer, calling the Washington Redskins “racist.” Francis played in six games for Washington last season.
In the Instagram post above, Francis dropped in the hashtag #AndYourLogoIsRacist, obviously referring to the team’s nickname.
Francis took a shot at Washington’s talent evaluation, as well, writing “When the team you were on didn’t appreciate you but the tam you played against actually pays attention to the film...”
Francis has already marked the Giants’ Oct. 28 and Dec. 9 games against the Redskins on his calendar. Of course, he has to make the Giants roster to get to those games.
Francis is a 6-foot-5, 337-pound defensive tackle. The 27-year-old has played in 12 NFL games since 2014 with the Redskins, Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins. He figures to compete for a spot as a reserve nose tackle behind Damon Harrison.
