NFL: Preseason-New York Giants at Buffalo Bills Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

The success of a franchise often seems to be based on the teams ability to surround their core players (generally early round guys) with Day 2 and 3 value picks that augment their roster. The Giants haven’t been able to do that as of late, but Lance Zierlein over at NFL has some diamonds in the rough.

Here’s an interesting take on the quarterback class that turns out to be a less than favorable view.

DI committee on Academy considers rule changes for transfer players. Not necessarily a draft related item, but an interesting development on the rules for college athletics.

Patriots had a private workout with Mason Rudolph, the Patriots jettisoned their Tom Brady succession plan and will very likely be looking for a new one in the draft.

If the Giants aren’t considering a QB at No. 2 (and personally I think it’d be irresponsible to not choose one unless there is a genuine belief that Webb is the guy. I mean this is the perfect chance for a young talented guy to learn a year or two under a veteran under a supposed QB guru...but I digress), the two most likely options are Saquon Barkley or Bradley Chubb and both will visit the Giants.

Sam Monson over at PFF writes that Frank Ragnow is the forgotten superstar in the NFL draft and the Ringer writes that Quenton Nelson is a generational guard prospect. It’ll be interesting to see how high interior OL will go as the number of quality pass rushing DT in the league grows.

Here is the list of the 22 prospects who are attending the NFL draft the most interesting one for me is LB Shaqem Griffin who is such an inspirational story and one heck of a football player.

Ex-NFL QB Jordan Palmer had a conversation with MMQB about the two big QB’s he’s training: Sam Darnold and Josh Allen.

Enjoy your weekend.
