There I was, taking a break from this week’s quarterback film study to have a couple grilled chicken breasts. Sitting down to eat, I opened Twitter on my phone for a bit of mid-meal entertainment, only to have my world rocked.
A user went where ESPN and the NFL Network fear to tread and exposed how and why Odell Beckham Jr. is the problem with the New York Giants and a cancer that needs to be excised immediately.
What follows is the thread where he lays out his case, point-by-point.
Odell Beckham is actually the problem with the Giants offense. A thread to show you what the lamestream media is scared to talk about.

Evan Engram drops this ball. Clear lack of leadership from Beckham with the rookie. pic.twitter.com/a0XeAcraMS

Brandon Marshall, one of the best WRs in the league for a decade, he becomes Beckham's teammate and then does this in Week 2. Coincidence? pic.twitter.com/MxOoY8ca8F

Beckham had just made a spectacular catch and Sterling Shepard was still thinking about it so he didn't complete the catch through the ground. Me-first player. pic.twitter.com/4oQh571Wo4

Beckham never stayed after practice with Engram to teach him to catch the ball with his hands, he never spotted him in the weight room either to make the rookie stronger. pic.twitter.com/qsMfxHEkiy

Marshall caught Beckham on the other side of the field wide open in the corner of his eye as the ball arrived. He's a distraction. pic.twitter.com/eVU30J1YJi

Okay so Engram doesn't catch this one but neither does Beckham so what does that tell you about him. pic.twitter.com/GKex6NRymy

Rhett Ellison was self conscious here because of how easy Beckham normally makes this look. pic.twitter.com/HRLIxY1rrl

Odell could have come back and caught this ball for Darkwa then handed it to him instead of trying to block for him. Lack of fundamentals on his part. pic.twitter.com/QVPQbMD1wf

Remember the boat? This one was because of the boat. pic.twitter.com/KKQkwgAOGQ

Odell chose to play wide receiver instead of being a running back. Can't blame Shane Vereen for that. pic.twitter.com/X3SxAk8r3l

After Beckham got himself hurt the rest of the team realized there was no point trying anymore. pic.twitter.com/yeB9tpKjR4

Travis Rudolph was asked to replace Beckham. Imagine how unfair that is to Rudolph. Beckham became a star just to make replacing him harder on the guy behind him. pic.twitter.com/an3UmuNuI8

Shepard was still thinking about that catch against the Eagles. pic.twitter.com/2GUNiTNl07

Would Wayne Gallman have dropped this ball if Beckham was on the field to draw the coverage away? We'll never know... pic.twitter.com/demgKk7z5N

Engram lacked inspiration. pic.twitter.com/p3Jrpq41Bi

The amount of passes behind the LOS that the Giants dropped was astounding. You know who doesn't play behind the line of scrimmage often? It's not Jarvis Landry. pic.twitter.com/ovuIHw9egz

Shane Vereen never wanted to do this. pic.twitter.com/neCmR6Umeb

Engram can't catch this one. Beckham didn't have a single catch in that game. Or target. Not even a snap. At least Engram tried. pic.twitter.com/Y2Prm3hBKG

(sarcasm font off)
Okay, that was all in good fun. But it does highlight how many good non-Odell players simply weren’t (consistently) doing their jobs last year. For a variety of reasons, the Giants a talented team (until eaten alive by a swarm of injury bugs) that woefully under-performed. This thread also highlights, that while Eli Manning certainly wasn’t great in 2017, his receivers did him few favors.
On a serious note, these are *only* the plays up until Game 8. Manning had 49 failed receptions on the season, more than any other QB https://t.co/MgXU1kEvs5 pic.twitter.com/16flwEyZOy
