Jackrabbit promises Giants’ locker room issues are a thing of the past

“It won’t happen this year what happened last year.”

Janoris Jenkins was one of three New York Giants — all cornerbacks, coincidentally — who were suspended during a tumultuous 2017 season. On Tuesday at the team’s first practice of voluntary mini-camp, Jackrabbit put last year clearly in the rearview mirror.

“I promise y’all that Jackrabbit says it won’t happen this year what happened last year. There won’t be any animosity between players, no disrespecting the coach. There will be none of that. New York Giant football is back,” Jenkins said. “t’s a fresh start for everybody. We’ve got a new coaching staff, new general manager and everybody is clean. You just come in with positive energy, focused and ready to go.”

The Giants have a new head coach in Pat Shurmur, new GM in Dave Gettleman, new defensive coordinator in James Bettcher, and several new position coaches.

If Jackrabbit is representative of the group, they may also have a new and improved attitude.

Recruiting Dez

Jenkins, who has had some excellent one-on-one battles with Dez Bryant over the past two seasons, has been trying to recruit the former Dallas Cowboys star to New York.

“He’s a great player, man. Just because I did it doesn’t mean it will continue for everybody. I just think everybody deserves a second opportunity and we’ll see how that goes,” Jenkins said.
