Chris Canty made some waves during Friday’s ‘Golic and Wingo’ show on ESPN Radio by saying that he thought the New York Giants might actually trade up in the 2018 NFL Draft. The former Giants defensive tackle continued that line of thinking later, telling Stephen A. Smith that he believes there is only one quarterback the Giants would be willing to take No. 2 — or No. 1 — overall.
Apparently the Giants only have eyes for one quarterback and @ChrisCanty99 thinks it's Sam Darnold. pic.twitter.com/EtQKgudPli

Valentine’s View: Indications I have gotten would back Canty’s assertion that the Giants have a clear favorite among the quarterbacks. Like Canty, I happen to believe Sam Darnold would be that guy. Only Dave Gettleman and Pat Shurmur know for sure. I don’t, however, believe the Giants would pay the price to move to No. 1 and guarantee they could select Darnold — if he is the guy they truly covet.

JPP deal won’t change much at top of draft | Bleacher Report
What does the Jason Pierre-Paul trade mean for the NFL draft?
Based on my talks with league sources, it doesn't change much. JPP was viewed as overpaid and overrated in New York, and the team's new defense better fits Olivier Vernon and Kareem Martin. Of course, NC State's Bradley Chubb is loved as a prospect. He would be an awesome fit at weak-side linebacker in the Giants' 3-4 scheme. The team is in good shape with the No. 2 overall pick.
