The Giants sign Solder to 4-year deal

NFL: Super Bowl LI-New England Patriots vs Atlanta Falcons Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Ian Rapaport of the NFL Network is reporting that the New York Giants are signing former New England Patriots left tackle Nate Solder. The deal will make Solder the league’s highest-paid left tackle.

Here is the contract breakdown.

Here is what the deal should look like, year-by-year:

This move comes on the heels of losing out on top free agent offensive lineman Andrew Norwell. The deal is being reported as four years, with terms unknown as of yet.

The move likely moves Ereck Flowers from the left tackle spot, but where to is still up in the air.

Solder will be 30 years old by the time the 2018 NFL Draft rolls around, and his signing does not preclude the Giants from drafting an offensive tackle at the end of April.

We will bring you more on the move as we get it.
