The Browns traded two picks to the Miami Dolphins for wide receiver Jarvis Landry, then dealt a mid-round pick to the Buffalo Bills for quarterback Tyrod Taylor. The Bills also traded quarterback DeShone Kizer to the Green Bay Packers.
Does all of this make the Browns more likely to pass on a quarterback with the first overall pick, instead selecting Penn State running back Saquon Barkley? Perhaps, but Taylor will be in the final year of his contract in 2018 and could be a bridge to a quarterback the Browns draft. Cleveland has the first and fourth overall picks and it would be a surprise if they don’t take a quarterback in one of those two spots.
The Giants, of course, have the second overall pick. Thus, whatever the Browns do at No. 1 will directly impact the choices the Giants have.
