some thoughts of how it could look
disclaimer: I really want barkley at #2
I'm not going to do cap # game cause I'm not good at it..lazy..and if they want they will find a way for all things :)
notable cuts: harris and marshall (marshall can stay at half what hes supposed to get if he chooses
let westburg ..pugh and darkwa go
keep Fluker
free agency signings: Andrew Norwell LG....Kamar Aiken WR...(either Tahir Whitehead or Nigel Bradham) OLB
norwell priority for the LG position..aiken is 28 yr old 6"2 wr off a 2mil salary will be cheap and I believe productive in NY
draft: trade with bills for our #2 pick receive: round 1 #21/#22/LT Cordy Glenn/round 2 #53
PICKS:
#21 McGlinchey/Williams/Brown OT (any of em to play RT)
#22 R.Smith/Evans/Edmunds LB
#34 Best off lineman avail
#53 Guice/Chubb/Michel/K.Johnson/Jones II
round 3 cornerback
only doing first 3 rounds..after that I have no idea..i'd go BPA on the team board
biggest changes is your offensive line:
Glenn/Norwell/Jones/Fluker/McGlinchey or pick #21....that's solid..with Wheeler and pick #34 competing and backing up
we add 2 new and quality LBr's via FA and the draft for Bettchers defense
we add a quality RB to be a 1-2 punch with Gallman
we add Aiken a tall receiver with some speed to compliment odell..with maybe an older Marshall as a 4th option (if he took a nice paycut)
hopefully a corner or def lineman in the 3rd round for depth
and we'd still have 4 more draft picks
best of all...I bet this can be done without breaking the bank..lets here some comments tweaks and discussion
