Happy Sunday and game day, New York Giants fans. Today, we have a Sunday afternoon matchup between the Giants (4-8) and the Washington Redskins (6-6).
Sunday’s matchup is between two teams trending in opposite directions. The Redskins are coming off their third straight loss, which last week was at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles. At one point this season, the Redskins were cruising, in first place in the NFC East with a record of 6-3. Now they find themselves at 6-6, one-game back of the Dallas Cowboys for first place in the division.
The Giants have been on fire as of late, reeling off four wins in their last five games. Last week, Big Blue was able to take down a first-place team, upsetting the Chicago Bears 30-27 in overtime. After starting the season 1-7, New York is looking to finish the season out on a high note.
The Redskins will play with Mark Sanchez at quarterback after both Alex Smith and Colt McCoy suffered broken legs. The Giants will play without Odell Beckham Jr. (quad) and Landon Collins (IR/torn labrum).
The Giants are 3-point favorites. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. EST
