The New York Giants suffered their 10th loss of the season on Sunday, falling to the Indianapolis Colts 28-27. The Giants are now 5-10 on the season have one game left on the slate for the 2018 season. With the 2018 season nearly behind them, it’s time to look at the 2019 NFL Draft.
Every week, Tankathon.com comes out with their 2019 NFL Draft Power Rankings. After being No. 11 on the list last week, New York moved up just one spot to No. 10 on this week’s rankings. The Giants currently have a draft value of 2,170.7, the highest mark in the NFC East. Here’s a look at how the Top 15 looks on the list.
If the season were to end today, the Giants would have the No. 8 overall selection in the draft. SB Nation writer Dan Kadar came out with his 2019 NFL Mock Draft on Tuesday. Kadar has the Giants selecting Rashan Gary, a defensive end out of the University of Michigan. Kadar said the following on the pick:
Maybe the Giants are serious about starting Eli Manning in 2019. It’s sort of crazy, sure. There’s two ways that could benefit the Giants. Firstly, it would delay the quarterback choice until 2020 when the quarterback class will be much stronger. Secondly, the team will have two years of development on Kyle Lauletta, whom the team spent a fourth-round pick on. If the Giants don’t go quarterback, a pass rusher is arguably the team’s biggest need. Gary is a combination of size at 6’4 and 285 pounds and athleticism.
