ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is “hopeful” to play next weekend vs. the New York Giants, but “not certain” and could miss the Week 13 contest at MetLife Stadium.
Trubisky missed the Bears’ Thanksgiving Day victory over the Detroit Lions with a shoulder injury. Chase Daniel filled in, going 27-of-37 for 230 yards and two touchdowns in a 23-16 victory.
In recent weeks, the Giants have beaten the San Francisco 49ers without Jimmy Garappolo and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Today, the Giants face a 4-6 Eagles team that will be missing a number of members of its secondary.
A second-year quarterback, Trubisky has completed 65.4 percent of his passes with 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He has a 97.7 passer rating. Trubisky has also run for 363 yards, averaging 7.1 yards per carry.
