If you’re still searching for the best adds on the waiver wire at this point in the fantasy season, you either did a great job managing your roster or you’ve been just good enough and need a boost over the final weeks of the regular season. Either way, you should be in the market for some high upside plays and that’s what this week’s waiver wire targets are all about.
Theo Riddick, RB, Detroit Lions
Rostered - Yahoo: 33 percent | ESPN: 33.1 percent
Riddick has been more involved in the passing game since Golden Tate was traded. Over the past three weeks, he has 8, 7 and 7 targets and 7, 6, and 5 receptions. He’s only one of 18 players to have at least 20 targets over the past three weeks. That’s high volume that’s likely to continue and could grow. With Kerryon Johnson out with a knee injury — though the extent is not reported to be serious — and Marvin Jones still not practicing after missing Sunday’s game, Riddick could be more involved in the Detroit offense over the next few weeks on both the ground and more importantly in the passing game.
Christian Kirk, WR, Arizona Cardinals
Rostered - Yahoo: 34 percent | ESPN: 26.3 percent
Kirk has been getting a lot of playing time in Arizona, he’s been getting more comfortable in the offense under Byron Leftwich, and Josh Rosen is starting to combine that into trust of the rookie wide receiver.
Josh Rosen indeed audibled into the WR screen that Christian Kirk turned into a 59-yard TD: "Back in college I learned the MF rule," Rosen said. "If there are a lot of MFers over there, go that (other) way."

Kirk hasn’t seen fewer than four targets in a game since Week 1 and even when it was that low this past Sunday, the big screen pass in space got him a big touchdown. To be fantasy-starter worthy, Kirk is going to be touchdown dependent at the moment, but if his chemistry continues to grow with Rosen and Arizona is consistently forced to throw when trailing, there’s upside to hang onto here.
Adam Humphries, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rostered - Yahoo: 15 percent | ESPN: 23.2 percent
If there was one person happy to see Jamies Winston take over at quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday and get named the starter for next week. Humphries gets more involved in the game when Winston plays quarterback. Here are his splits with and without Winston in 2018, per the RotoViz splits tool:

Humphries has averaged 1.6 more PPR points with Winston and over two more receptions. Tampa Bay will continue to be a pass-heavy offense with a bad defense and will face a San Francisco 49ers team this week that has struggled when covering players with not Richard Sherman. Humphries also has six targets inside the 20 over the past four games, which ups his scoring potential.
Gus Edwards, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Rostered - Yahoo: 4 percent | ESPN: 0 percent
There’s a lot of questions surrounding Gus Edwards. First of all, who?
Edwards had a surprise breakout game for the Ravens in Lamar Jackson’s first start. The undrafted rookie — listed at 6-foot-1 and 238 pounds — had 17 carries for 115 yards and a touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. After the game, John Harbaugh said, “We’ve got four different guys with four different styles. I think that’s a plus for us.” That sounds like fantasy hell for anyone trying to figure out what’s going to happen in that backfield going forward, but Edwards is worth a pickup for anyone after that performance to wait and see if that’s something that could continue, especially if Jackson remains the starter at quarterback. This is the exact kind of high upside move you want to take a flier on this late in the season, even if the result could just as likely provide no results. All you’re risking is a bench spot.
