Can the New York Giants continue their improbable clim back to NFC East respectability by going into Lincoln Financial Field and defeating the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday? Once 1-7, with a third straight victory the Giants can thrust themselves back into contention in a division led by a 6-4 team (the Washington Redskins) that just lost its starting quarterback for the season.
Per Odds Shark, the early line is not favorable with the Giants being posted as 6.5-point underdogs.
The 4-6 Eagles defeated the Giants 34-13 in Week 6 but have largely not looked like the defending Super Bowl champions. They are coming off a 48-7 pasting by the New Orlens Saints.
“I feel like we go into every game with the idea that we’re going to try to win it, and I feel like we can win it if we play well. I’m looking forward to playing Philadelphia. It’s going to be a competitive game, as we all know,” Giants coach Pat Shurmur said on Monday. “They took it to us the first game, we did some things in that game that you can’t do if you want to win against any type of team, and they’re a good team. They certainly have had their struggles of late, they’ve got injuries like we all have to some degree, but I’m looking forward to playing them.”
