The New York Giants, supposedly in “fire sale” mode on the day of the 2018 NFL trade deadline, made no trades on Tuesday as that deadline passed.
That means the only players traded as part of what has been referred to as the beginning of a “tear down” of a team, that is 1-7 this season and 4-20 over the past two seasons, were cornerback Eli Apple (New Orleans Saints) and defensive tackle Damon Harrison (Detroit Lions. Those moves happened last week.
There was much speculation on Tuesday centering around cornerback Janoris Jenkins and safety Landon Collins, but both remain Giants.
Jenkins is in the third year of a five-year, $62.5 million contract. Collins, a 2015 second-round pick, can be a free agent at the end of this season. Whether the Giants will be willing to give Collins a rich long-term deal remains to be seen.
The Giants did make one roster move Tuesday, waiving reserve cornerback Mike Jordan.

Pat Shurmur on @WFAN660 "You can't trade out all the players so you just try to get them as good as you can."

[UPDATE 3:34 p.m.]
The Giants haven't been actively shopping S Landon Collins, but they've gotten inquiries. The asking price there -- a second-round pick -- is high. At this point, if they were to move anyone there, it'd more likely be CB Janoris Jenkins.

[UPDATE 3:32 p.m.]: Is the “fire sale” over for the Giants? If so, it wasn’t that big of a sale.
As I said on @SportsCenter trade deadline special: It's believed that "Giants fire sale is over." If there is a move left to be made, it's CB Janoris Jenkins. Chiefs have been sniffing around Giants DBs past few days

[UPDATE 3:25 p.m.]: Could be one suitor dropping out of the Jenkins’ sweepstakes as the deadline approaches.
I’m not expecting the Steelers to make a move for cornerback help at the deadline barring unforeseen development. Will likely roll with what they have.

Janoris Jenkins told reporters today that “I don’t care “ if the Giants trade me.
“I play football to play football. If they trade me, bro, I don’t care. It is what it is. If they gonna keep me they gonna keep me. Business is business,” Jenkins said.
[12:58 p.m.]: More Janoris Jenkins rumors.

The 2018 NFL trade deadline is at 4 p.m. ET. The Giants have already moved two former defensive starters (Damon Harrison and Eli Apple) and considering where they are (1-7 this season, 4-20 over the past two years) it’s a good bet they will be active today.
Which players will go? We have heard speculation about cornerback Janoris Jenkins and safety Landon Collins, even reports that the Giants have an offer for Odell Beckham Jr. We have heard reports that linebacker Olivier Vernon won’t be moved, but until the deadline passes that can’t be a sure thing.
What about Eli Manning? He has said repeatedly he won’t waive his no-trade clause. The Jacksonville Jaguars, the one team that really should be pursuing Manning, have said they won’t trade for a quarterback. Will the sides change their minds?
Keep it here throughout the day as we track the rumors and look for deals either by the Giants or that could impact the Giants.
