Janoris Jenkins watched the New York Giants trade two of his defensive teammates this week, and knows there is plenty of speculation that he could be the next player out the door. In the midst of all of that, he is just trying to do his job.

“I’m not worried about what’s going on. Whatever decision they decide to make, they make it. I’m just here to play football,” he said on Thursday. “I understand it’s a business. Whatever happens, it happens. Like I said, I’m here to play football, and I’m going to show up every day until whatever decision they make.”

Jenkins turns 30 on Monday, one day before the 2018 NFL trade deadline. He is in the third year of a five-year, $62.5 million contract.

He said that believing he is next to be dealt is “not my thinking.”
