The New York Giants have announced that they are promoting wide receiver Corey Coleman to the 53-man roster.
Coleman is being signed to the active roster to fill a hole created Wednesday when the team traded defensive tackle Damon Harrison to the Detroit Lions.
The Giants signed Coleman to their practice squad following a workout last week. Coleman was originally drafted 15th overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2016 NFL Draft. He brings yet another explosive athlete to a Giants' offense which also boasts Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, Saquon Barkley, and Evan Engram.
The move gives the Giants another option for the number three receiver position vacated when Cody Latimer landed on the injured reserve earlier this season. It also gives the team nine games to see what they might have in Coleman.
