Flowers will be rejoining his former head coach Tom Coughlin, who is now the president of football operations in Jacksonville. Additionally he will be working with ex-Giants offensive line coach Pat Flaherty.
This move comes a few weeks after Jacksonville lost starting left tackle Cam Robinson to a torn ACL. Robinson, who was a standout rookie performer last season, went down in Week 2 against the Patriots. It has been confirmed he will miss the remainder of the season.
With only Josh Wells at left tackle, there were few options for the Jaguars to turn to. Flowers, who was benched in Week 3 for Chad Wheeler, will help fill out a team that is considered by many to be a Super Bowl contender.
