With the Senior Bowl set for this week and the 2018 NFL Draft just more than three months away, it is time to begin tracking 2018 NFL Mock Drafts in earnest. So, here is our first mock draft tracker of the year.
We have 15 mocks in this one and an overwhelming number of those (13, or 86.6 percent) expect the New York Giants to select a quarterback with the second overall pick. Eleven of those mocks (73.3 percent) expect the choice to be UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen. Two mocks picked USC quarterback Sam Darnold, who went No. 1 in many of the mocks listed.
The only non-quarterback selected for the Giants was Penn State running back Saquon Barkley, who was the choice in two of the 15 mock drafts.
It’s still very early, though in the words of Yogi Berra “it gets late early out there.” Things could change after the Senior Bowl, Combine, one-on-one interviews and private workouts. Right now, though, Rosen is easily the consensus choice.
