If Pat Shurmur, as expected, does become head coach of the New York Giants his current boss, Minnesota Vikings’ head coach MIke Zimmer, thinks Shurmur will do just fine.
“I think if he gets the opportunity, he’ll be successful,” Zimmer said during a conference call with Philadelphia media as his team prepares for the NFC Championship Game on Sunday afternoon against the Eagles.
A wide variety of reports have indicated that the Giants intend to hire Shurmur, once they are legally able to do so. They can’t do that until the Vikings, who are in the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles, are done playing. There have been reports that Shurmur will meet with the Giants for a second time next week, ostensibly because he has not yet met with co-owner Steve Tisch.
