The New York Giants did not announce a decision Wednesday on who the next head coach would be. They did, however sign three players to reserve/futures contracts.
Linebacker Thurston Armbrister is a 25-year-old who played in three games for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2015 and two games for the Detroit Lions in 2016. He was with the Lions again in 2017, but never appeared in a game.
Laurence Gibson is a 26-year-old offensive lineman. He was on the Giants’ practice squad for part of the 2016 season. Gibson was a 2015 seventh-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys. He has also been on the practice squads of the Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears, Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns.
Running back Jalen Simmons spent 2016 on the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad. He split 2017 between the practice squads of the Panthers and Los Angeles Chargers.
