The New York Giants took a small step toward the construction of their 2018 team on Monday, signing nine players to reserve/futures contracts. The nine are:

OL Ethan Cooper
WR Amba Etta-Tawo
K Marshall Koehn
DC Jeremiah McKinnon
P Austin Rehkow
DC Tim Scott
WR Canaan Severin
DT Kristjan Sokoli
DE Jordan Williams

Scott and Williams were each on the Giants’ 53-man roster for one game during the 2017 season.

These are players who will have a chance to join the Giants for their offseason program. Usually, a player or two from this group makes the 53-man roster.

A season ago, placekicker Aldrick Rosas joined the Giants on a futures contract. The signing of Koehn perhaps indicates that the Giants will force Rosas to compete for a job in 2018. Koehn kicked in one game for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2018, with a successful extra point and two kickoffs his only action.
