New York Giants News, 9/4: Giants Begin Prep For Dallas Cowboys

NFL: Preseason-New York Giants at Buffalo Bills Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Labor Day, New York Giants! Today marks the unofficial end of summer. On a happy note, though, it really is the first day of the 2017 NFL regular season for your Giants.

Monday won’t be a holiday for the Giants. It will mark their first regular-season practice as they prep for Sunday night’s season-opener against the defending NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys.

The Giants will have a brief, hour-long practice Monday. They will be off Tuesday and will do the heavy lifting of prepping for Dallas on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

We will have all of the news, analysis and opinion that you need to get ready for the Cowboys. So, keep coming back throughout the week.

In Case You Missed It

  • The Giants announced eight practice squad signings on Sunday and wide receiver Travis Rudolph was not one of them. Rudolph, though, is expected to be added to the practice squad on Monday.
  • The 53-man roster is set, and the Giants were not awarded any waiver claims on Sunday. That doesn’t mean they didn’t put in claims on any players, just that if they did teams with a higher waiver priority (a worse 2016 won-loss record) were awarded those players.
  • Former Giant Will Tye was claimed by the New York Jets.
