Giants are active in the community

As we have mentioned previously, SB Nation is doing “theme weeks” this season, asking us at the team sites to touch on a specific theme each week. This week’s theme is what players do in the community.

One of the primary things the Giants do is support the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund. The Landon Collins Charity Softball Game was held in the summer for that purpose, and Giants players still attend the annual Jay Fund dinner in New York City.

Eli Manning has been nominated as NFL Man of the Year a number of times and shared the honor last season for his work with children suffering life-threatening illnesses.

Giants players are always out in the community in New York and New Jersey speaking at schools or running clinics in the summer. On the 16th anniversary of 9/11 a couple of weeks ago, Giants players visited Engine 22 Ladder 13 Battalion 10 to honor the nine brave heroes of that firehouse who lost their lives on 9/11.
