The 0-1 New York Giants, facing an early-season game they really need to win on Monday night against the Detroit Lions, could really use Odell Beckham Jr. in the lineup. NFL insider Ian Rapoport said Wednesday night “it sounds like they are getting him this week.
Beckham, of course, has not played since suffering an ankle injury Week 2 of the preseason.
“At this point there is a lot of optimism that he will be on the field,” Rapoport said. “Just judging from what we saw last game from the Giants they need him a lot.”
The Giants were inept offensively in a 19-3 season-opening loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Media will have access to the beginning portions of practice Thursday and Friday. We will see if Beckham does more than he did last week, when he stretched, worked with trainers on the side and did some light straight-ahead running.
