After three practices in pads, the last two fully-padded and filled with what New York Giants coach Ben McAdoo calls “dust-ups,” the Giants return to the field on Friday. Practice begins at 11:55 a.m. ET, and hour later than normal, and is open to the public.
The later starting time is perhaps an indication that Friday’s practice will be a lighter one. McAdoo had previously indicated that Saturday’s closed practice would be a critical one, likely indicating an extended one in full pads. If that is to be the case, a lighter workload for players on Friday would make sense.
Injury Updates
McAdoo indicated that defensive end Devin Taylor and running back Shane Vereen would return to practice on Friday ... There is no timetable for wide receiver Sterling Shepard (ankle sprain) to return to practice ... Linebacker Keenan Robinson is in the concussion protocol ... After limping off the field Thursday, we will have to wait and see if wide receiver Tavarres King practices on Friday.
Told this morning MRI showed nothing unexpected for Sterling Shepard's ankle. Sprained ankle, like basketball injury.
