The New York Giants return to Quest Diagnostics Training Center Thursday for another training camp practice. Not certain if this one will be in full pads after Wednesday’s first fully-padded practice, but if coach Ben McAdoo follows last season’s pattern it will be.
Eli Manning On Fire
Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning has been on target the past couple of practices. By my unofficial count, including both 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 work, Manning completed 25-of-29 passes combined on Tuesday and Wednesday. He was 15-of-16 on Wednesday. Granted, completion percentages should go up in workouts like these, but no matter how you slice it that’s pretty good.
About Ereck Flowers
Dan Duggan of NJ Advance Media posted some videos of left tackle Ereck Flowers on Wednesday. There was some good, some bad. Many of you have seen them already, but here is one of the bad ones:

If you thought reps like this were going to magically disappear after Flowers’ offseason work, that’s not going to be the case. What everyone has to hope is simply that they happen less often than they have in the past.
Big Blue Chat podcast co-host Pat Traina is, quite honestly, better at judging the nuances of offensive line play than yours truly. Here is her take on what she has seen from Flowers thus far:
Ereck Flowers is inconsistent, especially in pass protection. What I think happens is that if he loses control of the situation, he reverts to the technique he has relied on for years, and it’s not pretty.
Flowers, as I see it, is fantastic when moving straight ahead, but if he has to play a man on an angle or a guy who’s built low to the ground, that’s where he gets into trouble with his hands rising up around his man’s shoulder/neck area.
