Not every player works out with the New York Giants. Some players who have been cut or released by the Giants are revitalizing their careers other places. Let’s take a look at how some of the Giants former players are doing in other camps.
Logan Thomas
The Giants signed quarterback Logan Thomas in June of 2016 and cut him in September of 2016. They then brough Thomas back to be on the practice squad, before releasing him in November of 2016. He is now with the Buffalo Bills, playing tight end and excelling at it. He is still with the team, with one week left in the preseason. In the Bills last preseason game, Thomas had one catch for seven yards.
Victor Cruz
Victor Cruz signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears after spending the first eight years of his career with the New York Giants. He had one catch for eight yards in the Bears third preseason game against the Titans. He will take an uptake in role following the news that Cameron Meredith will miss the entire 2017 season.
Prince Amukamara
Prince Amukamara spent six seasons in New York before leaving for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Amukamara is now with the Chicago Bears on a one-year deal. Amukamara is still in the Bears camp but is currently dealing with an ankle injury.
Johnathan Hankins
Johnathan Hankins spent five seasons with the Giants but in April signed a three-year, $30 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts. Hankins has been dealing with a shoulder injury all preseason but seems like he will be ready for Week 1.
Marshall Newhouse
Former Giants offensive lineman Marshall Newhouse spent two seasons with Big Blue but has found a new home. This off-season, Newhouse signed a two-year deal with the Oakland Raiders. Newhouse had been playing left tackle with Donald Penn holding out. With Penn now ready to go, Newhouse will be moved back to right tackle.
Rashad Jennings
Rashad Jennings spent the last three seasons with the Giants but currently does not have a team for the 2017 season. With the season getting closer and closer it is seeming more and more that Jennings won’t be signed before the start of the 2017 season.
Damontre Moore
Damontre Moore has bounced around from team to team after the Giants cut him back in 2015. He is currently with the Dallas Cowboys but has been suspended for the first two games of the 2017 season for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Moore was standing out in the team’s OTAs, according to Rob Phillips, a Dallas Cowboys senior writer.
Kelvin Sheppard
Kelvin Sheppard signed with the Chicago Bears two weeks ago after spending last season with the Giants.
