This is a busy sports Saturday. So, while you want for kickoff between the New York Giants and New York Jets here is an open thread you can use to discuss whatever sporting event or news is on your mind.

• Floyd Mayweather vs. Colin McGregor: Gotta be honest, here. I could care less about this ridiculous farce of a fight. But, some people are into it. So, who ya got?
• College football is back! Yes, there are college football games today. Not much in the way of good games, but there are games.
• Irving-Thomas trade on hold: Well, wouldn’t that put the Cavs and Celtics in a pickle if the Cavs decide Isaiah Thomas’s hip is too bad for them to complete the deal?
• The Julian Edelman injury: So, umm, Odell Beckham Jr. got lucky.
• MLB Players Weekend: Those XFL style nicknames on the backs of jerseys for baseball players are awful. Especially for old-time Yankee fans like me. Desecrating the Yankee uniform like that is terrible.
