The New York Giants host their MetLife Stadium co-tenant, the New York Jets, Saturday night in preseason game No. 3. This is usually the most important game of the preseason because starters play their most snaps before the season-opener. The game carries importance to the Giants for several reasons.
Among them:
- The rebuilt offense has not looked good, going without a touchdown in two games. The offensive line, problematic last year and untouched in the offseason, has not performed well.
- NFL teams will be trimming their rosters from 90 players to 53 in less than a week. It is now or never for players on the roster bubble to show why the Giants should keep them.
- The backup quarterback competition between Geno Smith and Josh Johnson still has to be settled.
Injury Updates
Wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) and Brandon Marshall (shoulder) are unlikely to play, though neither has been declared out. Mark Herzlich (stinger) and Michael Hunter (concussion) are among other Giants who will likely sit out.
Below, all of the information you will need to enjoy Saturday night’s game.
