Throughout the off-season, if there has been a question at all about whether a New York Giants player hasn’t been entirely healthy, they have sat.
While decisions regarding inactive personnel will likely differ when the games count for real, the Giants are still playing it safe with their dinged up players in the preseason.
The team will take the field to play the Cleveland Browns Monday night, but there will be several Giants who are expected to be inactive due to injury.
WR Dwayne Harris
WR Darius Powe (Hamstring)
RB Shaun Draughn
LB J.T. Thomas (knee)
LB Keenan Robinson (concussion)
LB Mark Herzlich (stinger)
OT Michael Bowie (discipline)
Notably, cornerback Eli Apple was a potential inactive with an ankle injury, but he appears to be set to play.
Several of these players who aren’t expected Darius Powe is once again in a battle with Roger Lewis Jr. for the last spot on the wide receiver depth chart. Mark Herzlich and J.T. Thomas are both likely battling UDFA Calvin Munson for a spot on the linebacker depth chart.
We will have to watch to see if any of these players lose ground while not on the field.
