The New York Giants announced a pair of roster moves Monday morning, with the signing of wide receiver Andrew Turzilli and linebacker Chris Casher.
Turzilli is a 6’4”, 197 pound receiver out of Rutgers who signed with the Tennessee Titans in 2015. He played in three games for Tennessee, with two receptions for 25 yards. Since then he has been on the practice squads of the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions.
Casher is an undrafted rookie who signed with the Oakland Raiders this spring. At 6’4”, 260 pounds he was listed at defensive end for the Raiders, though the Giants have announced him as a linebacker. Casher had 62 tackles, 9 tackles for a loss, and 3 sacks playing for Florida State, and 60 tackles, 8.5 sacks playing his final year of eligibility at Faulkner University in Alabama.
In corresponding roster moves, the Giants have waived Kevin Norwood, who was waived with a hip injury, and TE Colin Thompson who had a non-football injury (appendectomy).
