EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New York Giants open their preseason Friday night when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers at MetLife Stadium. Game time is 7 p.m. ET and it will be televised by WNBC in the tri-state area. NFL Network will carry the game nationally.

Were this a regular-season meeting, it would be a marquee one. Quarterbacks Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger. Wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Antonio Brown. None of those stars will play, however.
Pittsburgh will start rookie Joshua Dobbs at quarterback. The Giants will use Geno Smith, Josh Johnson and Davis Webb.

Sterling Shepard (ankle), Keenan Robinson (concussion), Kevin Snead (hamstring) and Mark Herzlich (stinger) are among those who seem unlikely to play for the Giants.
