Running back Shaun Draughn will begin training camp on the PUP list, New York Giants coach Ben McAdoo said on Thursday.

Draughn, a veteran signed as a free agent, is competing for a spot as a reserve in the backfield. McAdoo said Draughn has an ankle injury.

General manager Jerry said that J.T. Thomas, who missed spring workouts as he recovered from a knee injury, was taking a physical and “we’re trying to make a decision on that right now.”

In terms of other injuries, McAdoo said the Giants “have a couple guys that are going to try some things out – we’ll see how it goes.”

Owamagbe Odighizuwa Reports

Odighizuwa, the third-year defensive end who skipped OTAs to attend to personal matters, did report for training camp.

“He had some things he had to take care of and he’s out there ready to go and ready to compete,” Reese said.

First Practice

The first practice of training camp is set for 11:40 a.m. ET Friday at Quest Diagnostics Training Center. It will be open to the public. [Full schedule of public practices]
