Reportedly his chances of making the Cowboys were slim after the draft selection of Ryan Switzer, but it’s hard to say that the Cowboys did anything but act rashly rather than potentially face bad optics. Hopefully Whitehead will get a second chance with another team this summer.

The Dallas Cowboys have had themselves a tumultuous offseason, with several players running into problems with either the NFL’s discipline, legal problems, or both.
Monday, wide receiver Lucky Whitehead had his name was added to the growing list of Cowboys who have run into trouble.
TMZ is reporting that Whitehead was arrested on a warrant issued after he failed to appear for trial.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett has said that the Cowboys are “aware of the situation” and said that “we will do what is in the best interest of the Dallas Cowboys.”
Whitehead himself said "I didn't know about that" and "I don't know what's going on."
