Across all the SB Nation NFL blogs we’re writing about a player or position that we think fans should be really excited about this season. SB Nation is calling this hype week. For the New York Giants, I can’t think of a better position group to hype than the receivers. I won’t say “wide receivers,” because I have to include hybrid tight end Evan Engram.
Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall, Sterling Shepard, Engram. What’s not to be excited about in terms of talent.
Rank him wherever you want, Beckham is one of the game’s most exciting talents and probably one of the NFL’s top three receivers. Marshall has 941 career catches and brings size and red zone ability the Giants didn’t have a year ago. Shepard had 65 receptions as a rookie, and flashed ability to be even better than that. Engram offers mismatch potential the Giants couldn’t create from the tight end spot last season.
If these guys stay healthy and play to their potential the Giants should be among the league’s highest-scoring offenses.
So, yeah, that’s worth getting hyped about.
