Good morning, New York Giants fans! Let’s get caught up with what is going on with the Giants and here at Big Blue View.

We’re still talking about Johnathan Hankins

Defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins remains a free agent, despite reports that he has had an offer on the table from the Giants for weeks now. ESPN’s John Clayton, in fact, says that Hankins is the best free agent still on the market.

The New York Post reported Friday that there is “a good shot” that Hankins returns to the Giants — if he decides to do that soon. The Post speculated that the Giants’ offer, whatever it may be, “might not be there much longer, as they will soon need to move on.”

Giants’ salary cap update

NFLPA records show the Giants with $9.389 million in salary cap space with all of the team’s current contracts now included in the NFLPA database.

Running back Shaun Draughn will have a base salary of $775,000. Linebacker Keenan Robinson will receive a base salary of $1.5 million. We don’t yet know, however, precisely what their cap hits will be.

The Giants also cut the pay of running back Shane Vereen, lowering his base salary from $3.125 million to $2.125 million and his cap hit from $4.916 million to $3.916 million.

Michigan headlines Friday Pro Days

Pro Days are continuing leading up to the 2017 NFL Draft, and Friday’s headliner will be at Michigan. The Wolverines have 19 players with draftable grades on the CBS Sports Big Board. The biggest names are safety Jabrill Peppers, defensive end Taco Charlton, cornerback Jourdan Lewis, defensive tackle Chris Wormley and tight end Jake Butt.

Cal, where quarterback Davis Webb will be the star attraction, will also hold its Pro Day Friday.

Social stuff

Pat Traina (Inside Football) and yours truly are aiming to record a new “Big Blue Chat” podcast at some point on Friday. Later on this morning, perhaps around 11 a.m. ET, I’m also planning to do a “Facebook Live” chat.

Coming up here at BBV

A few things for you to watch for, because we want you to keep coming back:

  • Chris has a “Philosoraptor’s Corner” ready to roll. It’s draft-related, which is the only hint I’m offering.
  • The latest version of our 2017 NFL Draft Big Board will post later on Friday.
  • Brandon will take us around the NFC East.
