The Adrian Peterson rumor mill just keeps spinning, running pretty much at warp speed. The latest report, from one-time Big Blue View contributor and now current NJ Advance Media reporter Connor Hughes, is that the New York Giants are not among “serious suitors” for the future Hall of Fame running back.
Hughes said he was told that the Giants “are not completely ruled out as a possibility ... but they do not appear to be in the running at this point.”
This is good news if you are on the “don’t bring Peterson to the Giants” bandwagon. If you are a fan who would like to see Peterson join the Giants, just wait. Another rumor/report that the Giants are interested in Peterson will almost certainly be along at some point.
Asked Wednesday about Peterson, Giants coach Ben McAdoo said the team would “take a look at him, we’ll evaluate him.”
A source told me this week that the Oakland Raiders are expected to let Latavius Murray reach free agency and could emerge as a landing spot for Peterson.
The Minnesota Vikings recently declined Peterson’s $18 million 2017 option. He will become a free agent March 9. We won’t really know what to believe until then.
