NFL Free Agency: Could Bennie Logan leaving Eagles impact Johnathan Hankins?

A domino has finally fallen in the NFL free agency defensive tackle market, with the news that Bennie Logan will leave the Philadelphia Eagles and join the Kansas City Chiefs. Could this be the event that finally spurs movement on where New York Giants free agent Johnathan Hankins plays next season?

Big Blue View was told last week that the Eagles had been showing Hankins “lots of love” in the event that Logan moved on. He has done that now, replacing free agent Dontari Poe with the Chiefs.

There had been an expectation entering free agency that Hankins would have an active, and perhaps lucrative, market. Things have been quiet, but business is apparently picking up. I’m told Hankins is also continuing to draw interest from the Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns, and that the Detroit Lions are also in the mix.

A 2013 second-round pick, Hankins has been a full-time starter for the past three seasons.
