2017 NFL Free Agency: Quarterback Geno Smith to visit Giants - Report

Are the Giants looking to a former Jet to back up Eli Manning?

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at New York Jets Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Giants are definitely open for business on Saturday. We already knew that they would be hosting former Los Angeles Chargers guard/tackle D.J. Fluker for a visit as they look to add competition to their offensive line.

Art Stapleton is also reporting that they are hosting free agent quarterback Geno Smith.

The Giants have a void at backup quarterback with both Ryan Nassib and Josh Johnson hitting free agency. Smith is likely out as the Jets’ quarterback as they have (reportedly) expressed interest in former Chicago Bears’ quarterback Jay Cutler, and they have young quarterbacks Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg on the roster.

The Giants have expressed interest in athletic quarterbacks under McAdoo, signing Josh Johnson last year while also having Logan Thomas on the team for much of the off-season and on the practice squad for much of the 2016 season.

Stay tuned to Big Blue View for more free agency news as we get it.
