Let’s start the day by trying something a little bit different. Here are “Five things for New York Giants fans to know” to begin your Thursday.
Free agency rumor mill
We talked on Monday about how Tom Coughlin and the Jacksonville Jaguars appear to be ready to make a run at signing defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul if he reaches the open market. NJ.com believes you can add the Dallas Cowboys to the list of potential suitors. Dallas would have to clear more salary cap space, but the Cowboys do need an impact defensive end.
SB Nation has posted a list of the players it considers to be the top 100 players headed to free agency.
More mock madness
Chris gave the Giants tight end David Njoku in Round 1 of his three-round mock draft. Round 2 is coming up a bit later, so check back for that.
By the way, we are now up to 37 NFL Draft prospect profiles.
Mailbag questions
Have a question you want answered? E-mail it to bigblueview@gmail.com and I will try to include it an upcoming mailbag.
Around the NFL
With rumors swirling that the Chicago Bears are making a concerted effort to trade him, quarterback Jay Cutler is reportedly considering retirement.
NFL analysts Daniel Jeremiah thinks there is a chance Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins could be dealt to the San Francisco 49ers.
Social stuff
Giants’ lineman Marshall Newhouse threw some good-natured shade at teammate and Syracuse alum Justin Pugh Wednesday night after the Orange defeated Duke on a last-second shot.
@JustinPugh Syracuse storming the court in the carrier dome. Sad!

@JustinPugh that's like me storming the court after I beat you at pool, it should be EXPECTED

I have no idea what the state of the Newhouse-Pugh pool rivalry is, but I do know Newhouse is right about Syracuse fans. They’re a big-time school with a Hall of Fame coach and a perennial NCAA Tournament team. I know it’s a thing now in college hoops, but it’s not a good look for Syracuse.
