Giants’ Odell Beckham out of walking boot

Making progress after fracturing ankle

NFL: New York Giants at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jonathan Dyer-USA TODAY Sports

New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., out for the season with a fractured ankle, has progressed to the point where he is now out of the walking boot he had been using.

Beckham was spotted in the team’s weight room and was in the locker room during the post-practice media access period. He did not speak to reporters, but appeared to be walking without any noticeable discomfort.

Beckham suffered the fractured ankle Week 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers. He had suffered a high ankle sprain during preseason, missed the season-opener and was never completely healthy this season. He caught 25 passes for 302 yards (12.1 yards per catch) with three touchdowns in four games.

That game began a rash of injuries that have left the Giants with a depleted roster far different than the one that started the season.

Beckham also took to Instagram Wednesday to compare some of his emotional outbursts to those of the Patriots’ iconic quarterback.
