The New York Giants take the field today at 4:25 against the Oakland Raiders.
This is a match-up of disappointing teams who came in to the season considered potential Super Bowl opponents. Instead, the Raiders have fallen well short of expectations and will be without Michael Crabtree (suspended) and Amari Cooper (concussion, ankle).
Giants have had a catastrophic season that has seen them grossly under-play their talent level, fall to a 2-9 record, the defense appear to be on the verge of mutiny at times, and bench their franchise quarterback.
The benching of Eli Manning, and subsequent promotion of Geno Smith, is the story of the week, culminating in Ben McAdoo’s potential firing some time in the next 24 hours.
The Giants placed four players including RG D.J. Fluker and CB Janoris Jenkins on the injured reserve this week. They are, however getting WR Sterling Shepard and MLB B.J. Goodson back from injury.
