Giants inactives: Landon Collins, Eli Apple will both play vs. Eagles

Ankle injury won’t sideline Collins

Safety Landon Collins and Eli Apple will both play Sunday when the New York Giants face the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium (1 p.m./FOX).

Collins suffered an ankle injury last week vs. the Dallas Cowboys. He played several games earlier this season with a high ankle sprain suffered Week 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers. He said during the week that he “should have never played the next three games.”

Collins tested his injured ankle on the field with strength and conditioning coach Aaron Wellman, and was apparently deemed fit to play.

Apple had practiced during the week, but had a much-publicized spat with Collins. This has been a rough season for the 2016 first-round pick as his effort and attitude have been questioned. He will play for the first time since teammates and coaches criticized him for lack of effort vs. the San Francisco 49ers.

Webb will be inactive for a 14th straight game. As usual, Webb’s activity on Sunday was limited to the pre-game throwing routine he goes through about three hours before each game.
